CONNECTION ISN'T REBUILT in ONE BIG CONVERSATION. IT'S REBUILT in THE NEXT SMALL ONE

My Approach

Licensed Professional Counselor · Texas & Arizona

You don't have to do that here.

You've been holding it together for a long time.

Some people find their way to therapy in a quiet moment, a slow realization that something has shifted, that the distance between them and the people they love has been growing for a while. Others arrive in the middle of something hard. A crisis. A breaking point. The moment when what they've been carrying finally became too much to carry alone.

Both of those are the right time to reach out.

I became a counselor because I believe that people are worth understanding, not just the parts that are easy to show, but the parts they've spent years learning to protect. The walls. The shutdown. The way a person can be surrounded by people and still feel completely alone.

That's the spaces that I work in and being able to carry that with you is what I love most about what I do.

People come to therapy carrying things they've never said out loud. That's usually where we start. Not just with a diagnosis and treatment plan, but also with what's actually going on.

Convinced that the small moments are the whole thing.

Deeply relational. Endlessly curious.

Hi, I'm Britney

What I actually do

The work looks different for everyone.
The goal is always the same.

Maybe you're in the middle of something hard right now. A relationship that's fracturing. A moment of crisis that finally made it impossible to keep going the way you were going.

Or maybe nothing dramatic has happened. You've just been carrying something for a long time, a heaviness you can't quite name. The same arguments on repeat. The feeling that no one really knows you. Working hard at everything except the parts of your life that actually matter most.

Either way, something brought you here.
That's enough to start.

The work isn't about fixing what's broken. It's about understanding how you learned to protect yourself  and figuring out whether that protection is still serving you.

CLINICAL APPROACH

My clinical work is relational at its core. The question I keep coming back to is "how did this person learn to connect?" And what got in the way?

I use EMDR and trauma-informed approaches in my work, and I'm deepening my study of attachment-based frameworks and how early relational patterns shape the way we show up, or shut down, in our closest relationships. That learning is ongoing, which I think is exactly how it should be.

What that means practically: I bring genuine curiosity to the room, not just a protocol. The approach shifts depending on what the person in front of me actually needs.

"The wall isn't the problem. It was the solution once. Therapy helps you figure out what you actually need now."

Brevity isn't about being quick.
It's about paying attention.

Most people expect therapy to be about the big revelations. The breakthrough moment. The thing that finally explains everything.

That's not usually how it works.

Change happens in the small moments. The way you respond instead of react. The thing you finally say out loud. The session where something quietly shifts and you don't notice until you're driving home.

That's what we're here for.
