Most people land on a page like this trying to work out which box they belong in. You might not fit one cleanly, and that's fine. Read whichever one below sounds closest to where you are. We'll sort out the rest on the call.

You're good at handling things. So good that nobody thinks to ask if you're handling them alone.
Maybe you'd call it anxiety. Maybe stress, or stretched too thin, or not sleeping the way you used to. Maybe you're around people constantly and still feel like almost nobody really knows you. Or maybe you wouldn't put a word to any of it. You just know something is off and you're done waiting for it to pass.
You don't need a big named thing to come here. If you have one, that's fine too. Both are a reason. We work on what your body does before your brain catches up, what you're carrying that you never agreed to carry, and what you learned somewhere along the way about needing people.

You used to talk about everything. Now it's logistics. Who's picking up whom. What's for dinner. Did you call about the water heater.
And from the outside, everything still runs. Bills get paid, kids get picked up, nobody looking in would think anything's off. That's almost the hardest part. Trying to name something that doesn't show up anywhere you can point to.
Or maybe you're reading this three days after a blow-up, and it feels like you waited too long. You didn't. Honestly, that's a pretty normal place for people to start.
Here's what I actually do: I go to the pattern underneath. Not who's right. What keeps happening between the two of you, and what it's protecting you both from. The point is you stop looping the same fight.

One-word answers. A kid who used to tell you everything, and now tells you nothing.
And you can't tell which one this is. Normal teenage distance, the kind that's supposed to happen. Or something you're actually missing. Both options keep you up at night, and honestly, that's the real problem. Not knowing which one you're dealing with.
Oh, parent, I get you. Noticing is the hard part, and you're already doing it.
Here's the thing though: this isn't about fixing your kid. It's about giving them one adult they don't have to manage. Don't have to reassure. Don't have to perform for. If it helps, we can set up a monthly check-in just for you too, so you're not totally in the dark. General progress, not the specifics. You'll get a real sense of how it's going and learn skills to help support your teen.

Your body remembers things your mind has stopped thinking about. Ordinary things put you on alert. A look, a silence, a certain tone, and you're bracing before you've even worked out why.
Maybe you can point to the thing that caused it. Maybe it was a hundred small things and none of them sound bad enough out loud.
It doesn't matter whether one thing caused this or a hundred small things did. Your system is still doing its job, long after it needed to. That isn't a flaw in you. EMDR fits here, and it isn't about reliving everything to get somewhere. The real question we're working is whether the protection you built at the time is still the right size for the life you have now.

Some people want faith in the room. Some want it left out entirely. Some want it somewhere in between and would rather not have to explain that in the first ten minutes.
You decide how much is in the room, and you can change your mind about it later. I have additional training in Christian counseling, and it's here because people ask for it, not because it's expected. You don't need to be a Christian to work with me, and you don't need to be a particular kind of one.
